CLEAN UP OUR RIVER

The Mississippi River will be the focus of a
community-based clean up event hosted by renowned
environmental group, Living
Land & Waters, in Keokuk Iowa. This cleanup will
be hosted as a mean to beautify and restore the ricer to
its natural state and to educate local citizens about
the issues confronting the health of the
Mississippi River.
Volunteers of all ages are needed to assist in the river
cleanup taking place from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Volunteer are
asked to wear long pants and old tennis shoes or boots.
Bottled water, life jackets, gloves, and bags will be
provided to all volunteers.
This event is hosted by Living
Land & waters, East Moline, IL, a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to the
beautification and restoration of
America's major ricers and to
education people about environmental issues
.

The Southeast Iowa Make-a-Wish Foundation
1st Annual Wish Upon a Par golf outing
August 10, 2007, starting at 11:30 AM.
All proceeds will stay local to benefit children within the
southeast Iowa region. The
Make A Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization
dedicated to making wishes come true for children with life
threatening diseases. The golf outing will be held at
Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison Iowa.
The cost for the event is only $50, which includes golf,
cart, lunch, and prizes.
Hole sponsorships are also still available for this event.
